NASA-EX or NASA Expolorer is a demo and the first steps towards a 3D solar system exploration tool.
Using HORIZON data sets, we get the current coordinates for each planet relative to the sun.
We used C# ASP.NET MVC3 for a backend to interface with HORIZON over telnet, Three.js to do the WebGL rendering, HTML5 and CSS3.
Future plans are to delve deeper into detail, hopefully include better exploration controls, small bodys and more information. The purpose of this is to help people learn and explore and get interested in space!
