Bringing #SpaceApps to the Magic City
April 19, 2012, 1 p.m.
The planning of this event has given me the opportunity to interact and meet many different people with varying backgrounds locally and globally, but who are just as enthusiastic about global collaboration through STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) in addition to the innovation and creativity that will inevitably spark from the Space Apps Challenge. I am not much of a techie, but through the planning of this event I have become much more familiar with some excellent communicative and collaborative tools allowing the free flow of information and ideas across town and across the world. I am so excited (and anxious) to see the city of Miami (and all the locations) team up and work together with other concerned citizens around the world.
Media Coverage of the International Space Apps Challenge
April 19, 2012, 9:44 a.m.
Leading up to the event, Gov2.0Radio has produced a series of really engaging interviews with organizers, subject matter experts and local organizers from around the world. Gov2.0Radio will also provide live coverage throughout the weekend. They will be sharing the latest news from the lead cities, compiling a "best of the day" episode to highlight the success stories, and doing special interviews with some of the participants. We encourage you to check out their special feature page on Challenge Weekend which gives a consolidated view of all the action.
Cultivating Creativity
April 19, 2012, 4:35 a.m.
As we get ready for the International Space Apps Challenge and start to think about the solutions we plan to develop around one of the many challenges this weekend, I really encourage you to consider your creative approach. Are you thinking about the problem in a traditional way or are you really stretching yourself creatively? What are the decisions, practices, regulations, and laws that you are letting nurture or constrain your creative work?
